Jack Davis

Daniel Melens, age 56 of Elmira, NY died on Friday, October 8, 2004 at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a long battle with cancer. Dan was the son of Margaret Shawhan Melens of Breesport, NY and the late Bernard L. Melens. In addition to his mother he is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Corkins Melens; daughters, Christine Melens of Elmira and Jennifer (Andy) Boudinot of Dundee, NY; sons, Mike Kozemko of Elmira, Brian Kozemko of Horseheads, and Kevin Kozemko of Elmira; grandchildren, Taylor Kozemko, Sarah and Peyton Boudinot; brothers, David (Lisa) Melens of Elmira and Douglas (Gail) Melens of Horseheads; sisters, Dawn (Robert) Jewell of Ithaca and Diana (Winslow) Wolfe of Horseheads; along with several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Dan was retired as a NYS Correction Officer at the Elmira Correctional Facility. Before corrections Dan had worked for the former Erie-Lackawanna RR and Conrail. Dan enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid NASCAR fan.
